ABOUT KATIE DITCHMAN
Qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from Coventry University in 2011, I am a full member of The Society of Sports Therapists, Federation of Holistic Therapists and The British Medical Acupuncture Society. I am fully qualified to provide a variety of Sports Therapy treatments for men, women and children of all ages.
Founding Perform Sports Therapy in 2012, my business has rapidly grown to include ongoing professional support for an extensive collection of sporting teams, workplaces, establishments and clients. Beginning with private therapy treatments for clients, offering injury treatment, preparation for competitions/events and relaxation techniques for individuals, I am also able to provide onsite workplace treatments/workshops for large or small businesses to help lower stress levels within work, aches and pains, as well as potentially lowering sick leave.
My professional sports team services to date have included:
- Sports Therapist for Coventry City Football Club
- Sports Therapist for Braintree Town Football Club Academy
- Head Sports Therapist for Saffron Walden Town Football Club
- Head Sports Therapist for Cambridge University Rugby League
- Sports Therapist for Eastern Counties RFU senior team
- Sports Therapist for Rugby 7s tournaments from U16s to U23s
- Sports Therapist for Cambridge Rugby Union Football Club
My most recent accomplishments in Sports Therapy have seen me work for Virgin London Marathon Expo and the Prudential Ride London expo every year since 2013 providing massage and injury advice to all the athletes including celebrities, elite and general public.
I have previously supported Race for Life locally, working as a volunteer, where I was pleased to provide sports massages and injury advice to the runners taking place.
Prior to expanding my career with my own clinic, Perform Sports Therapy, I worked in private practices, gaining me extensive experience in busy clinical settings. It was this experience that gave me the knowledge and experience necessary to found my own practice, where I could combine my knowledge of sports therapy, rehabilitation, sports massage, medical acupuncture, kinesiology taping and medical ultrasound to provide a complete service to my patients. Seeking to establish a service that rehabilitates, treats and works preventatively, my clients are provided with a service that not only treat their pain or injuries but prevent them from reoccurring, so that normal daily and sporting activities can be returned to without risk.
My Own Sporting History
Since the age of 4, I have been passionate about dancing, participating in contemporary, jazz, street/hip hop, disco and Ballroom and Latin American dancing, achieving Gold Star level under the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and going on to compete on a national level at the grand finals every year until the age of 18 at Tower Ballroom Blackpool. With a history steeped in dancing and first-hand experience in the intense strain such exercise can put the body under, I grew up with a deep understanding of the importance of treating injuries, stiffness and any preventative therapies to keep my body functioning efficiently and without pain to allow me to move forward. While studying my BSc at Coventry University, I was a member of the Cheerleading Society, as well as a member of the competition team, where I was able to help and advise my fellow team mates on the importance of physical and sports therapy for performance.`
I have a keen interest in all sports and enjoy keeping fit, the gym, running and attending yoga classes to maintain my own physical wellbeing. I believe it is my passion for sport and exercise that drives my dedication towards the work I do, where I am able to help others achieve their goals.
Perform Sports Therapy is fully covered with medical malpractice and public liability insurance.
